Excavation of the top of the mountain tomb on the island
Normally, the burial facilities for the front keyhole burial mound are built first on the top of the keyhole. It is built almost without exception. Next, it may be made on the top of the front part (hereinafter referred to as the front part top). This is not necessarily made, but a burial facility called clay coffin was discovered at the top of the front in 1996 at the Kofun on the island, and many relics were excavated. See another excerpt, Excavations at the Shimayama Burial Mound Burial Facility, south of this one.
This survey will be conducted next year after the survey on clay coffins. The range specified in the figure below. When a survey area was set up and excavated, iron products and stone imitations were excavated. Because of their strong burial quality, the possibility of new burial facilities at this location has increased.
In response to this, a survey was conducted two years later, expanding the scope. Here you can see the changes in the soil, which are thought to be sinking traces of the wooden coffin. However, in response to this, I tried to further expand the scope of the investigation, but it was difficult to determine that there were burial facilities.
As a result, burial facilities are very likely to exist, but it was not possible to determine to what extent they existed. By the way, burial facilities may also be built for other purposes, such as production, but this has not been confirmed at the Yama Kofun on the island.
